@QuietMisdreavus Last year or so, I bought the Sabrent thunderbolt 4 kvm for this very setup. It is expensive, but provides a true thunderbolt experience where both devices can be plugged in and you press a switch to go between them.
It is a bit of a hub itself, so much can be connected “directly”. An additional hub or such could be used daisy chained if it wasn’t enough. It’s been very reliably for me. I don’t love the look of it, taped over the bright blue leds, but it was the first thing to market that was an actual TB4 kvm.
