I’ve seen a lot of takes on the BlueSky app and how it’s a React Native app. I’ve worked on RN apps since 2015, and while I think it’s very possible to get great performance out of RN, the trouble comes when you need 1st party frameworks.

Platform APIs are not uniform, so wrappers attempt a unified interface that is often opinionated and/or buggy. You are now responsible for all of this code when it breaks. You need so much knowledge to be competent in this space.
